International Aviation Academy of New Zealand

School Highlights

The International Aviation Academy of New Zealand (IAANZ) for the last 27 years has been fulfilling the dream of flight for aviators from all over the world. Located at Christchurch International Airport, IAANZ offers a professional training environment with a proven record for excellence and innovation in teaching and is a NZQA Category 1 provider accredited to deliver New Zealand Aviation qualifications.
As an Air New Zealand Preferred Flight Training Organisation (PFTO) and a Vietnam Airlines approved Flight Training Organisation we collaborate closely with the industry to ensure our training is current and fit for purpose.

IAANZ offers a variety of flight training options including NZ diplomas, training schemes, MCC courses, online theory and other short courses. It also has the ability to customise training for groups that may have specific aviation training requirements. Students will gain valuable real-world experience flying from an international airport as well as experience on grass runways when operating out of our satellite airfields at West Melton and Rangiora.

Our location at Christchurch International Airport provides quick access to mountain flying terrain in and around the magnificent Southern Alps. This training environment enables students with a passion in aviation to fuel their ambitions to become professional pilots. The fleet of 28 aircraft are maintained inhouse and cadets have an opportunity to fly every day. Theory is delivered using eAviator which is an IAANZ developed eLearning platform and now used widely by other flight schools, aero clubs and students all over the world.

Over the years IAANZ has earned for itself an industry reputation of being the best path to the aviation industry.
