Bay Viet (Viet Flight Training) is one of 4 aviation training academies operating in Vietnam (other 3 are the Vietnam Airlines Training Center, Vietjet Training Center and BAA Training Vietnam). In 2008 Bay Viet (Viet Flight Training) was established to address the growing need for pilots in Vietnam. The Pilot School focuses on Ground School courses and simulator training which are both done in Vietnam. There is currently no flight training done in Vietnam and Bay Viet (Viet Flight Training) and the Airlines have partnered with foreign Flight Training Schools.

The unique feature about this Pilot Training School is that graduating from their program will ensure employment with Vietnam Airlines.

Before starting Pilot Training at Bay Viet (Viet Flight Training) students take an entrance exam which includes an English test for listening and reading, a pilot training specific test software called ADAPT (for more information about this please contact us), and an interview in English with Airline Pilots.

Following this students have Ground School classes in English of 783 hours for 24 weeks (6 months) - this part is know as Airline Transport License Theory and has 14 subjects. Once successfully completed Ground School classes and exams students will go to a Flight School approved by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam for 44 to 52 weeks (11 months) to get their Private Pilot License and Commercial Pilot License. The flight schools are located in the US, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

Once Bay Viet (Viet Flight Training) students have their Commercial Pilot License they return to Ho Chi Minh City to do 3 weeks of simulator training known as MCC (Multi-Crew Coordination). Following this students will do training dependent on the Airline (Vietnam Airlines).

Bay Viet (Viet Flight Training) shareholders come from the aviation industry such as Vietnam Airlines, Vietnam Helicopter Corporation (Ministry of Defense), Vietnam Aircraft Leasing Company (VALC), ESMA Aviation Academy (France) and HIPT Group.
