The School of Aviation of California Aeronautical University (CAU) offers professional pilot program where students can pursue their degree online while receiving flight instruction at their local Flight Center, currently located at Oxnard Airport (KOXR) and Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport (KMYF).
CAU has established partnerships with airlines such as SkyWest Airlines, Piedmont, GoJet Airlines, Mesa Airlines, Air Wisconsin Airlines Corporation, Expressjet, and Horizon Air.Pilot Training Courses offered by California Aeronautical University:
- A.S. Aviation Studies
- B.S. in Aeronautics
Training is done using Cessna 172 G1000, Cessna 172 RG, Baron 55 aircraft, Redbird MCX 172 Configuration Dual Control Motion, Redbird SD 172 Configuration Single Control, Frasca Baron 58P Configuration Twin Dual Control.
The associate degree takes 18 months and qualifies you to 250-hour reduction in FAA-mandated flight time for an air transport pilot (ATP) while the bachelor degree takes three years and 500-hour reduction in FAA-mandated flight time for an air transport pilot ( ATP).
Students of the pilot program earns Private Pilot Certificate, Instrument Pilot Rating, Commercial Pilot Certificate, Flight Instructor, and Flight Instructor Instrument.
The flight school offers student housing on campus.
