China Southern West Australian Flying College (CSWAFC) was established in 1993 to train airline cadets for China Southern Airlines. Based at Jandakot Airport, 20 mins drive from Perth, the college also owns and operates the Merredin aerodrome, 250km east of Perth in the heart of the Wheatbelt. Both locations have pilot training and accommodation facilities. China Southern West Australian Flying College specialises in training airline pilots from raw recruits with no flying experience to multi-engine instrument rated jet first officers.
China Southern West Australian Flying College takes pride in the very high standards of flight training it has achieved, exceeding the rigorous levels set by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia. The unique mix of the best training aircraft, expert people, and excellent facilities allows them to graduate over 200 cadets every year. Multiple flight simulators are also used to train students including a state of the art SSA 58-B 6DOF Sim. These pilots then return to China Southern Airlines, one of the fastest growing airlines in the world.
China Southern West Australian Flying College operates as a joint venture between China Southern Airlines and CAE.
All graduates of China Southern West Australian Flying College proceed to earn aircraft type ratings at the Zhuhai Flight Training Centre, a joint venture between China Southern Airlines and CAE in Zhuhai, Guandong province, China.
