Istanbul Aviation Club Association was founded in 1986 by Retired Pilot Lieutenant Colonel Necati Artan. In 2005, the Beech T-34A from the Air Force was included in its fleet. This makes the club as one of the rare world clubs with high-performance advanced training and aerobatic aircraft in its fleet.
