Kapiti Aero Club, located at Kapiti Coast Airport just located outside of Wellington (45 minutes drive), it the ideal place for anyone wishing to fly recreationally or who must balance their flight training with home and work commitments. It offers a professional training environment with a dedicated team of instructors while at the same time exhibiting a warm and friendly atmosphere
Kapiti Aero Club offers Private Pilot License, Commercial Pilot License, Instrument Rating, and Flight Instructor training to the students. The courses are taught using a fleet of 5 Cessna 152’s, 2 Cessna 172’s Garmin G1000 equipped, PA-38, PA-18, Robinson R22, Cabri G2 and Elite PI-135 Simulator.
Primary base of Kapiti Aero Klub is Kapiti Coast Airport earlier called Paraparaumu Airport. Positioned on Kapiti Coast of New Zealand’s North Island, between the Wellington dormitory suburbs of Paraparaumu Beach (to the west and north), Paraparaumu to the east, and Raumati Beach to the south.
Its location offers an ideal training environment, as they do not experience the delays encountered at major airports due to large aircraft arriving and departing, but practice within a busy traffic environment is possible due to the short flight times from Paraparaumu to Wellington, Palmerston North or Nelson.
The Kapiti Aero Club additionally offers Helicopter training.
