Leading Edge Flight School was established in 1995 and was relocated to Hoedspruit, South Africa in January 2002. It is a South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) approved flight school.

Courses offered:

  • National Pilot License (NPL)
  • Private Pilot License (PPL)
  • Light Sport Pilot License
  • Conventional Controlled Microlight (CCM) Pilot License

Training is done using three (3) types of aircraft which includes Aquilla Trike, The JABIRU SP - a light sport aeroplane, and the BANTAM 22J - conventional controlled microlight aeroplane. Training can be done full time or part time.

Two full-time instructors are available all year round. Furthermore, the airfield where they are operating from is Hoedspruit Civil, which is the only airfield in the country situated in the middle of a town.

In terms of residential accommodations, the flight school arrange self catering accommodation in wooden cabins.
