18 years of age and hold an appropriate immigration visa, Class 1/2 medical, willing to undergo an Aviation Security Identity Card (ASIC) check, English Language 5.5 IELTS or TOEFL 530 (paper based)

Melbourne Flight Training (MFT), opened in 2006, located at Moorabbin Airport Melbourne comprises many different types of aircraft for ab initio training through to multi-engine and advanced flying skills. Training includes the Private and Commercial pilot licenses, Night VFR, Command Instrument Rating, and Instructor Ratings. A variety of endorsements form part of the training syllabus and may be undertaken separately.

Melbourne Flight Training achieve this through highly experienced and dedicated Instructors aiming towards successful outcomes with students flight training; be it professional or recreational. Melbourne Flight Training highly experienced Instructors come from a diverse background within the industry. Many have chosen to make instructing their career. Today MFT operates a fleet of Cessna 152, Cessna 172, Cessna 182, PA28, PA34, P68C, 8KACB.

Melbourne Flight Training are approved by the Australian Government to provide training for both local and overseas students in a friendly and nurturing environment.

The concept of Melbourne Flight Training came from many years of the original Director’s combined personal experience within the aviation industry at both the flying training and airline level. From the humble beginnings they now have in excess of 20 full time Instructors and a modern fleet of approximately 20 aircraft. The highly experienced Instructors come from a diverse background within the industry. Many have chosen to make instructing their career.

Whilst it is crucial students are constantly aware of where their training fits into their overall career, Melbourne Flight Training recognised that many schools don’t provide the ongoing monitoring, feedback and motivational guidance that is required during training. Student’s preferences for their career path may change during their training as they become exposed to many facets of the industry. For that reason MFT adopted an interactive and consultative program that remains flexible and responds to changing preferences.

Training International Students have been a speciality of Melbourne Flight Training, being approved by the Australian Government for training of oversea students. The school has trained students from Bhutan, China, England, Fiji, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Macau, South Korea, Switzerland, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey and the UAE.
