18 years of age and hold an appropriate immigration visa, Class 1/2 medical, willing to undergo an Aviation Security Identity Card (ASIC) check, English Language 5.5 IELTS or TOEFL 530 (paper based)

North Queensland Aero Club (NQAC), was established in 1947 and has become one of the best-organized clubs and pilot training centers in Australia. Based at the Mareeba Aerodrome, North Queensland Aero Club's vision is to be North Queensland's leading flight training, scenic flight, and light charter company.

North Queensland Aero Club Mareeba location offers many benefits to students, value for money being one of them. The ability to train outside controlled airspace allows for more time to focus on the lesson you are undertaking and gives you more time in the air due to reduced air traffic. North Queensland Aero Club offer a full range of flight training options, from the more flexible and relaxed recreational licence, right through to commercial standard and beyond. The courses and services offered are RFT, PPL, CPL, IR, FI, Constant Speed Prop, Ground School, Theory Classes, Aircraft Hire, scenic Flights, Aircraft Charter, Aerial Photography & Spotting, Radio Licences, Overseas Conversions and Dual Scenics for Overseas Pilots. NQAC operate a fleet of 2 Cessna 152’s, 2 Cessna 172’s, 2 Cessna 182’s one M20J, one Piper PA-28 and Jabiru J160D.

Mareeba Aerodrome is approximately 22nm west of Cairns International Airport. During World War II Mareeba Airfield was known as Hoevet Field and there is quite a bit of history relating to the airfield. Mareeba aerodrome is maintained to the standards required by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority by Mareeba Shire Council.

North Queensland Aero Club Scenic Flight options are available from both Cairns and Mareeba, see the Great Barrier Reef and surrounding rainforests, or alternatively, visit the picturesque Atherton Tablelands or Mount Mulligan.
