Patiala Aviation Club (PAC), established in 1962, was formerly owned by the Punjab Government. The Punjab State Civil Aviation Council (PSCAC) currently owns and manages the pilot school. The campus is 250 acre wide and conducts training at Patiala, and Amritsar bases.
The pilot school is equipped with: First, Punjab Aircraft Maintenance College (PAMEC) which offers a Diploma level program in aircraft maintenance. Secondly, the Punjab State Aeronautical Engineering College (PSAEC) which runs a four-year Degree level program in ‘Aeronautical Engineering.’Courses offered:
- Student Pilot License (SPL)
- Private Pilot License (PPL)
- Commercial Pilot License (CPL)
- Multi Engine Training
- Instrument Rating (IR)
- Ground Classes
- Simulator Training or Instrument Procedure Training
- Diploma in Aeronautical and Aircraft Maintenance Engineering
- B.Tech in Aeronautical Engineering
Patiala Aviation Club has a fleet with eight (8) aircraft of which six (6) are single-engine and two (2) are multi-engine aircraft. Not only that PAC is providing flying training activities at Patiala and Amritsar bases but also, both flying bases offer day and night VFR and IFR flying training. Furthermore, competent instructors with excellent skills on flying are part of the faculty. As a result, many pilots holding prestigious positions and serving with national and international commercial airlines have learned to fly from the Patiala Aviation Club.
More importantly, PAC has the state-of-the-art Cessna 172 glass cockpit simulator. Also, PAC continous to follow the standards set forth. Hence, constant upgrade and maintenance are of prime importance when it comes to infrastructure and academic facilities.
