Apply as a licensed pilot directly to Hawaiian Airlines
Assuming that you already hold a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) or an Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL), to become a Pilot with Hawaiian Airlines, you must meet the following minimum requirements:
- FAA ATP certified
- Airplane Multiengine Land with English proficient endorsement
- First Class FAA medical certificate
- 2,000 total flight hours
- a minimum of 1,000 fixed wing hours
- First Class Medical Certificate,
- FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit,
- high school diploma or its equivalent, and

Join Hawaiian’s Pilot Pathway Program
In 2019, Hawaiian Airlines launched the Hawaiian Pilot Pathway Aircrew Instructor Program which paves the way for certified Pilots and Instructors to get into the cockpit of Hawaii’s flag carrier. In this program, you must first join the company as an instructor.
Candidates hired through Hawaiian’s Pilot Pathway Aircrew Instructor Program will deliver fleet and ground training to pilots while helping develop courses for Flight Standards & Qualification activities.
