Can I be a pilot with an airline transport pilot license (ATPL)?

Yes! You are already a pilot and can, even more, be an airline pilot with an Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL). The following are the minimum qualifications to become an airline pilot:

  • ATPL Theory License/Frozen ATPL
  • At least 1,500 hours flight hours
  • Flight hours as Pilot in Command
  • 21 years old and above
  • Graduate of a Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation

Do take note that the requirements to be an airline pilot depend and may vary with the qualification of the airline and the country you would like to work for.
