Can I be an instructor with an airline transport pilot license (ATPL)?
A pilot who holds an Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) can be an instructor but with a lot of limitations. An airline transport pilot can instruct other pilots of the same airline, training program, air transportation service, or aircraft. However, if an airline pilot wishes to instruct other student pilots, a Flight Instructor Certification is required in order to meet the qualifications of an instructor pilot and be able to teach and train others. As well as, to allow the flight training course to be credited and be eligible for any further endorsement.
